Welcome To The Wytchway Inn

Welcome

Hi, a big hello and a very warm welcome from CJ, Lorraine and Staff here at The Wytchway Inn Bar and Restaurant in Bohernacrusha, Holycross, Thurles, County Tipperary E41X327

Who We Are?

We are a family run business which began here when we bought the pub in 2004. After a few years here we realised the pub industry was changing so much. To move forward we decided we would start serving food. We built on the restaurant and opened the doors in November 2008.

Where We Came From

CJ has been working in the hospitality industry for many years now. He began his career in The Shannon House in Foynes, County Limerick where his sister and brother in law owned a Pub/Restaurant/Townhouse. CJ studied Bar Management in CIT. After graduating CJ and I emigrated to London where we ran two very successful pubs with other family members for six years. To return to Ireland was always on the cards so when the opportunity arose to return to The Shannon House to lease it ourselves in 1994, we jumped at the idea. In 1996 we made the move to Tipperary when we bought a pub in Killenaule. We ran a thriving business here for eight years. In 2004 we decided to buy this pub and move to Holycross where CJs Mam came from. We decided to call the pub The Wytchway Inn for a couple of reasons, one being there were a couple of entrances into the pub and the other was the fact that people often stopped at the crossroads to ask for directions so we thought the name suited here very much. Our families on both sides are all involved in the pub trade. CJs sister, brother in law, brother, sister in law along with his three nephews own two fantastic pubs in London. My sister and her husband own another fantastic pub and townhouse in Kerry.

What We Are About

Our pub is a quaint, old fashioned pub where our locals come for chats and drinks. Food is served in the pub as well as the restaurant so if you want to grab a bite while watching a game on one of the tv screens that’s no bother. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a drink before or after eating in the restaurant. Our restaurant is separate to the pub and seats up to sixty-five people. Our aim is to serve locally sourced, high quality, wholesome food. We cater for all ages; we welcome families and friends. We also have a private room upstairs where we cater for smaller groups. This room also has a wall projector so it is often booked as a meeting room for companies. We provide an outdoor catering service for small numbers to larger parties within a twenty-mile radius. We hope the many years of experience we have will allow us to help make your experience with us a happy, memorable one. Our staff are a wonderful bunch, always ready to greet and serve you with a welcome smile. Our chefs come with vast experience, always willing to try new ideas. We thrive to make our business a successful one so every effort on all our behalves is made to make sure you enjoy your visit with us and when leaving we hope you will look forward to returning again to The Wytchway Inn.
